What is an Accredited Investor?

Lesson 6: What is an Accredited Investor?

In this video, I will explain what an accredited investor is and why that's important. So an accredited investor is a person that can invest in commercial real estate syndications by satisfying one of the requirements regarding income or net worth. These requirements create black and white qualification methodology that are really a proxy for whether someone is deemed to have sufficient knowledge.

Experience in financial wherewithal to take investment risk associated with non-regulated investments. So the current requirements to qualify are an annual income of $200,000 individually are $300,000 for joint income for the last two years with the expectation of earning the same or higher, or a net worth exceeding a million dollars individually or jointly, excluding your personal residence.
