This is a pretty good summary of essentialism. The big rocks theory is if you take a container and you put in the sand first, and then you put the small pebbles in and then the big rocks, it doesn't fit. There's a geometric problem, right? It's just, it doesn't, it just doesn't fit. If you do it that way,
if you take the same size container, but you change the order, you put the big rocks in first, then the small rocks, then the sand, then it fits. And it's a metaphor because the big rocks are, you know, looking after yourself, protecting the asset. It is you. It's looking after the most important relationships of your life.
It's making trade offs between projects so that you can pursue just the few that you think will be the highest contribution that you can make. And that's the idea and that's the logic flow.
