Lesson 2: Do You Know What a General Partner is?
In today's video we're gonna talk about what exactly is a general partner. So you may have heard, or you probably will hear a general partner referred to as a GP. So just know that like if you ever hear the word or the term GP, they're talking about the general partner. Similar to an LP is the limited partner.
Now the GP is the managing partner and they're responsible for all the day to. Of the partnership. And they also carry unlimited liability for the partnership, unlike limited partners who are limited to their investment in the deal. And then you also may hear the term syndicator or sponsor. For all intents and purposes, those are synonymous with the term general partner.
So if you're somebody mentioned a syndicator and or a sponsor, they're talking about the general partner in the deal.
